Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults eLearning Course
Overview
Our Foundation level Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults course is written for people who work in the adult care industry for them to gain an understanding of the requirements of Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults legislation such as the Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Groups Act 2006 and how to implement this into the workplace.
Learners are made aware of signs and indicators as well as the types of abuse that are different to Safeguarding children such as Financial Abuse and Institutional Abuse. Also included is advice and guidance on how to avoid unsafe practices, reduce the likelihood, respond appropriately when abuse is likely to occur and the importance of recording and reporting any concerns or disclosures of abuse in the correct way. The programme benefits from narrative scenarios and activities with ongoing assessment making it engaging and interactive.
Aims & Objectives:
- Explain what safeguarding is.
- State the principles of safeguarding in settings accessed by vulnerable adults.
- Describe safeguarding legislation.
- Identify types of abuse and their possible indicators.
- Identify risk factors.
- Outline your safeguarding responsibilities.
- Emphasise the importance of whistleblowing.
- Discuss disclosure and barriers to disclosure.
- Explain how to respond to disclosure and record and report a disclosure /concern.
