Overview

Learning disabilities are many and varied and affect about 1.6 million people in the UK. In this module we will introduce you to what a learning disability is. We will describe some of the things people with learning disabilities may find difficult and why and how these can be overcome. We’ll evaluate the benefits to employers and individuals on recruiting people with learning disabilities as well as highlight some of the ways in which workplaces can support people who have learning disabilities and explore what reasonable adjustment can be implemented.

What's included in this course?

This module will enable you understand:

  • what a learning disability is.
  • some of the things that people with learning disabilities may find difficult and why.
  • the benefits to employers and individuals on recruiting people with learning disabilities.
  • the ways in which workplaces can support people who have learning disabilities.
  • what reasonable adjustment means and how it can be implemented.
