Overview

It's human instinct to be scared of fire. With good reason: It's hot and dangerous. Unfortunately, you probably work in a place surrounded by flammable things. Go on, have a look around. Paper? Electricals' Check. These things have the potential to ignite and present a big problem for you and your colleagues.

There are things you can do to reduce the chances of a blaze from taking hold though. This course explains what the risks are, states who's responsible for taking action (here's a clue, we all have a part to play), and teaches you about other useful stuff. …Like, how to use fire extinguishers and equipment, which regulations you're covered by, and where safety information can be found. We're here to keep you safe. Check it out.

Outline Learning Objectives:

  • Identify different types of fire safety equipment and how to use them
  • Describe an emergency escape plan
  • Recognise hazardous substances and mitigate the risks they pose
