Course Overview

The purpose of this training is to raise the awareness of both fire prevention, and the methods that can be used to tackle a fire in an emergency. The course addresses the topics of the dangers and causes of fire, what actions to take on discovery of a fire and how to reduce the risk of a fire starting.

Course Objectives

This Fire Awareness course looks in detail at:

• Dangers & causes of fire
• The fire triangle
• Actions on discovering a fire / hearing an alarm
• Fire extinguishers
• Fire prevention, safety & reducing risk
• Good housekeeping

This will help organisations collect the evidence required to demonstrate the knowledge and awareness to operate safely.

Course Content

Course learners will understand the most common causes of fires and how they start, developing knowledge of the fire triangle. What actions need to be taken during a fire alarm and what methods can be used to extinguish a small fire if necessary. How to reduce risk and prevent fires from starting.

Target Audience

This course is suitable for office, retail or commercial based employees and serves as a valuable introduction to Fire Awareness. The course is also suitable as a refresher to those who may have already completed practical training.

This course is not suitable for employees working in a high-risk environment such as heavy industry or with dangerous / highly flammable materials.
