Course Overview

Anybody that needs to lift, move, or carry an object, regardless of size or weight, is performing a manual handling task. Because the scope of manual handling is so great it is important that employees are training in correct manual handling technique to avoid risk of injury.

This training course covers the importance of manual handling, assessing the risks involved and using the TILE technique. Video examples of handling are demonstrated from various positions such as lifting from the floor, a table and seated as well as other techniques such as carrying, team lifts and pushing/pulling.

Course Content

Course learners will understand the most common injuries and risk associated with manual handling. What actions need to be taken to mitigate these risks, such as using the T.I.L.E technique and correct lifting technique. The knowledge competence of the learners is checked with an assessment at the end of the course.
