Loneliness and isolation can affect anyone, highlighting the universal nature of these experiences. In this awareness course, we will delve into the underlying causes and proactively examine steps that each of us can undertake to recognise and counteract feelings of loneliness and isolation.

Objectives

  • Understand the issue of isolation and loneliness – what does this look like? Who does it affect and why?
  • Recognise what we need to do to help people who are lonely and isolated – what questions should we be asking them? How do we identify those who are isolated and lonely?
  • Know how to help someone who is lonely or isolated

Audience

This course is for people in contact with vulnerable individuals.
