Course Content

  • Topic 1: introduction - Understanding what trauma is, how it shows up, and Adverse Childhood Experiences.
  • Topic 2: trauma informed practice -Learning about the key trauma informed practice principles and how to apply them to recognise trauma and support people.
  • Topic 3: becoming a trauma informed organisation - Outlining the key phases of becoming trauma informed, communication strategies, workplace culture, and the importance of self-care to prevent secondary trauma.
