Overview

This course provides you with an introduction to the safe handling of medicines. It provides an overview of the definitions and classifications of medicines according to current UK law. It also covers the relevant legalisation, guidelines and the seven rights of medication administration (and the routes of drug administration).

By completing this course, you will finish with an awareness of what it means to ensure the safe handling of medicines. You won’t be trained to administer medicines. However, you will know how to support those that can, including what you can and can’t do.

This module is aimed at: all roles within your organisation associated with the handling of medicines.
