The activities in this pathway provide essential guidance on the policies and procedures that will help you keep children safe from adults and other children who might pose a safeguarding risk.

After completing all the activities in this pathway you should be able to describe key concepts for safeguarding children, recognise the types of abuse children can encounter, respond to safeguarding concerns and demonstrate appropriate safeguarding behaviours.

Objectives

At the end of the course, trainees will be able to:

  • Describe key concepts for safeguarding children.
  • Recognise the types of abuse children may encounter and respond appropriately.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of the procedures for recording and reporting safeguarding concerns.
  • Demonstrate appropriate safeguarding behaviours.
