Overview

This course ensures the learner is working to current moving and handling guidelines, and alleviates any poor techniques that they may have adopted, therefore minimising the risk of injury to themselves. Suited to all staff in the workplace, this course covers the basics of stance, posture and team handling in a safe and effective manner. This course also covers the formal and informal risk assessments when assisting an individual to move.

Objectives

This training will enable learners to:

  • Judge the impact of moving and handling for workers and individuals
  • Modify an environment before undertaking a moving and handling task
  • Identify different ways to move an individual in accordance with the individual's risk assessment and care plan
  • Report and record possible changes that may affect the individual's care and support plan for assisting and moving

This course has a minimum of 25 learner registrations for us to provide a quotation.
