Our Slips and Trips Challenge course helps you prevent the most common cause of major injuries in the workplace: slips and trips.

Objectives

In this course you will learn:

  • The main causes of slips and trips
  • How to identify unexpected potential hazards
  • Environmental factors that can increase risk
  • Prevention of slips, trips and falls
  • How to properly clean up spillages

About the Course

Slips, trips and falls account for nearly a third of non-fatal work-related accidents. They are one of the most common (and most preventable) causes of injuries in the workplace. While few of these result in fatalities, that is not to say that slips and trips shouldn’t be taken seriously, or that they cannot cause permanent damage to your workforce and organisation.

It is the responsibility of the employer to ensure that staff members are provided with a safe environment to work in, and to undertake regular risk assessments and offer training to this effect. Employers that do not offer this protection face legal action, not to mention the damage a serious slip, trip or fall could cause to the organisation’s morale and reputation at large.

In this course you will play the role of a facilities supervisor at Facilitate Ltd, who supply facilities management staff to other companies. Your challenge is to help employees based at different work locations to identify slip and trip hazards and potential risks at their location.
