Course Overview

This course will start you on your journey to understanding the term Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and how and why it is used in business. It will introduce some of the key themes within ESG, explore why businesses adopt ESG principles, and show you how to get involved.

Learning Outcomes

This course gives employees at all levels foundational knowledge about the benefits of an ESG strategy, the opportunities it brings and the risks of getting it wrong.

With a focus on what a strategy on paper actually looks like in practice, we’ll explore examples of employee actions within a workplace context.

We’ll consider the evolution of ESG and how modern business embeds, reports and is regulated on each area, making it a part of business as usual.

This course provides learners with foundational knowledge of:

• What ESG means, how it has developed, its importance in a business context, and what it looks like in a business
• Key themes within ESG
• Some of the risks and opportunities, and some of the reasons why businesses should adopt ESG principle
