Introduction to the Metaverse 101 eLearning Course
Overview
The 2021 to 2022 metaverse push promised a shared virtual world and lost tens of billions of dollars chasing it. This honest, jargon-free course explains what actually happened, then covers what genuinely works today: spatial computing, digital twins and training tools. It covers the real privacy, safety and accessibility risks, and a simple framework for evaluating any use case.
Learning Objectives

- What the 2021 and 2022 metaverse push promised, and what actually happened to it

- The main privacy, safety, accessibility and cost risks of immersive technology, including biometric data
- How UK, EU and UAE principles apply to a privacy or online safety question involving immersive technology
- How to judge a specific business use case on its own merits, rather than adopting "the metaverse" as a category
