Overview

Every year, workplace fires cause injuries, costly damage, and loss of life - often because workers hesitated or didn't know what to do. The Fire Extinguisher Use course prepares you to make fast, confident decisions when a fire breaks out. Through real-world scenarios and an immersive simulation, you'll practice the skills that matter most when seconds count. An interactive simulation is available for desktop, mobile, and VR headsets. Drawn from OSHA Standard: 1910.38, .157, 1926.150, .352, and industry best practices.

Objectives

On completion of this course the learner will be able to:

• Follow the correct steps when you discover a fire - alert others, assess conditions, and decide whether to act or evacuate.
• Use the 5 safety conditions to determine whether it is safe to fight a fire.
• Apply the P.A.S.S. method to safely operate a fire extinguisher.
• Follow safe evacuation procedures, including knowing exit routes and your designated assembly area.
• Understand that fighting a fire is always voluntary, and know the importance of following your employer's Emergency Action Plan.
